The Rolls-Royce Enthusiast's Clubub

The Bentley now has the number W12 APC. I have owned it now for about a year following a GTC and an earlier GT before that. They were preceded by an Azure and a Mk6 Special. So I’ve had quite a few Bentleys.

 

But only one Rolls, 1977 Shadow 2 which I bought in 1998 for a trans America rally which was subsequently cancelled, very disappointing. But the Rolls became our rally car and since has done I estimate some 100,000 rally miles. It has been to Norway and Morocco, Cape Clear, the south westerly point of Ireland and Bosnia and Monte Carlo 5 times.. So it’s done a bit and been a huge joy. We’ve had a few troubles but overall it’s been fantastic. Classic car rallies generally run on quiet country roads but their surfaces can often be poor so it’s had a very hard life. But we love it and it’s my wife’s favourite car.
